schə is my endeavour to design and make clothes for strong and individual women. I have been obsessed with clothing for most of my life, but the mainstream fashion world I find empty and tedious. I try, with my clothes, to incorporate meaning along with the cloth. My designs do not reference the ‘latest trends’ – I get inspired by things that come by my way: sights, sounds, poems, music. All these ideas coalesce and, I hope, come out as an ‘alive’ being.

When you wear my clothes I want you to feel – to be aware – to notice how the skirt brushes the ground, to feel the grasp of the corset, the weight of the clothes, and to move in the way the clothes take you. In a way I want you to become part of the clothes themselves.

I believe that clothing is a huge importance to every human life. It is the visual conversation we have with the world, and no one can escape it. I like to play with those conversations we have every day, and I believe that a strong woman is completely aware of them. In my conversation I want to entice and discomfort, seduce and confront, and always empower.
